Qualifications : Other information :
- Associates in Nursing or Bachelors of Science in Nursing
- Graduate of an academic School of Nursing required;
- Minimum ADN or BSN Preparation;
- State permit to practice as a Graduate Nurse required;
- degree from an accredited academic school of nursing preferred
- Permit to practice at the specific PHS facility is completed and approved by the NMBON
- Permits to practice are valid until the NCLEX examination are disseminated but not to exceed the expiration date on the permit
- Under the direct supervision of a licensed RN who is physically in the same facility and / or on the same unit who can observe, direct, and evaluate the performance of the GN
- The Graduate Nurse must be scheduled to take the NCLEX exam.
- Graduate RNs educated in the United States may take the exam a maximum of three times within three years of first being eligible for to sit for the exam.
- The applicant must wait 45 days to retest after failing the exam and meet all the NCLEX requirements for retaking the exam. (Nurse Practice Act, NM Code R. 16.12.2.10 NMAC)
