American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring recent acute care PICU and telemetry experience, as well as BLS and PALS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 21-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a comprehensive medical and surgical centerPatient caseload includes critically ill or injured children with conditions such as acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMONight shift scheduling with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30am, including every other weekend and some holidaysTravelers are the first to float and may be scheduled across multiple units or locations within the organization as staffing needs requireEpic EMR experience is required and utilized in the unitProvide family-centered, comprehensive care to pediatric patients and their families as part of a highly skilled interdisciplinary teamResponsibilities include management of diverse acute and complex cases using advanced clinical skills and critical decision-makingOrientation typically lasts one week with specific scheduling provided prior to startStrict telemetry exam must be passed prior to start, with retesting protocols in place if neededFacility is a Magnet-designated, Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICURequests for time off will be reviewed by the manager, with no more than two weeks allowed per contractFirst-time travelers may be consideredLocal candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI or compact RN license in hand at the time of applicationCurrent BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart AssociationMinimum two years of acute care experience in PICU within the last three yearsSolid PICU experience with additional CV ICU, cardiac step-down, or general cardiac experience requiredBasic arrhythmia / telemetry competency required, with successful completion of a pre-employment telemetry testEpic EMR charting experience requiredBachelor's degree in nursing preferredCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible\n Benefits\n
