Description :

Infusion RN for outpatient oncology infusion center.

Day shift, 5x8s, 0800 - 1630.

EPIC documentation.

1st time traveler OK.

Required to work on all coming holiday.

Certifications REQUIRED :

BLS - AHA

Chemo Certification - ONS or ONCC

Skills / Experience Preferred :

⦁ Infusion Center

⦁ Inpatient oncology

⦁ Outpatient oncology

⦁ Active Immunotherapy Specific / Non Specific

⦁ Recognize / manage side effects

⦁ Care of patient with various types of cancer

⦁ Administration of chemotherapy

⦁ Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy

⦁ Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy

⦁ IV push administration of chemotherapy

⦁ Management / disposal cytotoxic spills

⦁ Monitor chemotherapy

⦁ Oral Administration of chemotherapy

⦁ Recognize / communicate abnormal lab values

⦁ Accessing Ports

⦁ Care and management of ports

⦁ Central line blood draw

⦁ Central Line / Implanted Line Care

⦁ Infusion pump management

⦁ Intravenous hydration / multivitamins

⦁ PICC line care

⦁ Starting IVs

⦁ Medications (Antiemetic, Antitumor, Antibiotic, Corticosteroids, Neupogen, Hormonal therapy)

⦁ Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS)

⦁ Anaphylaxis

⦁ Extravasation injury

⦁ Hemorrhage; Sepsis

⦁ IV push narcotic agents

⦁ Medication tolerance / dependence assessment

⦁ Neutropenic precautions

⦁ Advanced directives

⦁ Hospice care; Patient / Family education and support

⦁ Withholding / withdrawing treatment

⦁ Symptom management (Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation / diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea / vomiting, Neuropathy)
