Executive Producer – Spectrum News Tennessee
We’re looking for an experienced Executive Producer who can own the vision of the local newscast, lead the team through story creation, and deliver compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision for the newscast, steer story creation, and produce high‑quality newscasts.
- Lead a team of storytellers, build a positive team culture, and generate story ideas that reflect the local community.
- Make data‑informed decisions that connect the audience with the stories that matter.
- Oversee breaking news coverage and issue‑driven special programming, including cross‑newsroom workflow.
- Provide hands‑on management and training opportunities involving graphics, cameras, and cross‑newsroom workflow.
Qualifications
5+ years of producing and executive producing in television news.2+ years of management experience.Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or comparable television work experience.Working knowledge of newsroom software and basic non‑linear editing systems.Basic editing and ability to train others.Must be open to travel to discover important stories in the neighborhood and willing to interact with the community.Works different shifts and is flexible with schedule changes.May be required to lift up to five pounds.Preferred Qualifications
