Overview
The Environmental Services Technician level I is responsible for performing daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. The EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, and safety-related interactions appropriate to the demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. Responsible for ensuring timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. May be responsible for proper waste handling and disposal, floor care, and operating room terminal cleaning. The environmental services technician contributes to cleaning, disinfection, prevention, and patient experience in accordance with organizational quality standards.
