Job Description
The Psychiatrist specializes behavioral health medicine to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Psychiatrist in this role, you will provide expert psychiatric care with a focus on comprehensive behavioral health management. Responsibilities will include assessing patients, devising treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment strategies, including medication management, psychotherapy, and interventional procedures
- Utilize interventional psychiatry techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), IV ketamine therapy, VNS, or other emerging modalities to address treatment-resistant conditions
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, clinical findings, and changes in psychiatric status
- Collaborate with emergency services as needed
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team healthcare professionals, including advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other specialists
- Participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and continuing education to enhance professional development and stay current with advances in psychiatry
- Supervision and / or collaboration with extenders
Qualifications
Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of residency training in psychiatryBoard certification or eligibility in psychiatryValid NY State licensure and DEA registrationExperience in interventional psychiatry techniques preferred (e.g., TMS, ketamine therapy), not requiredStrong diagnostic skills and proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plansExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively within a teamCommitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and advocating for the mental health needs of patientsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectivelyWorking Conditions
