Overview
Employment Application for Product Data Specialist. Our company is a traditional and e-commerce retailer, headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama. The role is critical to the procurement team's success and supports transition from product acquisition to sales by preparing products and product information for presentation on our website and store shelves.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing to research product uses and features and gather information to present to customers.
- Use supplier resources, supplier portals, and existing databases to create compelling, complete, and detailed product descriptions that inform customers and motivate sales, including product reviews.
- Follow best practices to collect and present product details clearly and concisely with consistent formatting.
- Maintain a complete and up-to-date listing of attributes and features for each item, including included items.
- Attain and maintain best-in-class image presentation by curating main images and high-quality additional image files.
- Properly categorize items to optimize display on the company website for improved search and browsing experiences.
- Inform purchasing decisions by presenting additional suggestions and recommendations (e.g., Must Have Accessories, Related Products, Customers who bought this item also bought).
- Apply a robust set of levers when the team agrees to launch promotions and follow guidelines to maximize SEO results.
- Maintain the Product Database and publish its status daily; manage SKUs, inventory levels, reorder points / quantities, costs, and sales prices.
- Support Marketing and Store Planning with product detail and promotion materials; ensure data governance and data quality.
- Track and report completed action items to ensure website and store offerings remain current.
- Create weekly analysis of rate of sale, inventory levels, and product profitability; coordinate with Product and Category Managers to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor seasonal trends and planned events to inform procurement requirements.
- Communicate errors in product information or the Product Database promptly and respectfully; accept additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
