Environmental And Safety Manager
Accountable for developing, directing, and assisting services management with implementing environmental and safety programs that : Raise associates' awareness of risks and risk control strategies; Reduce, eliminate, and protect associates from hazards in the workplace that may result in occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial losses; Verify all operations and service work, including construction activities, comply with all federal, state, local and corporate laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Participate as a member of the Vertiv global EHS leadership team and contribute to the development of policy and procedure that enhance the safety of our operations and minimize the impact of our manufacturing operations on the environment. This individual would be responsible for implementation of Vertiv global standard as well as regulatory compliance at multiple sites / locations across the US and Canada. This is an onsite role at our Global HQ in Westerville, OH. Responsibilities include :
Identifying safety and environmental hazards inherent in our services and construction operations and establishing guidelines and assisting management with implementing procedures to protect associates and the environment from those hazards.
Leading and guiding the North America Services organization's efforts on managing all aspects of EHS. Participating on operations leadership teams within the region. Providing guidance and advice to executive leadership on enhancing the organizational culture.
Investigating all incidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
Understanding the implementation of LIFE / SIF (Serious Injury and Fatality prevention), HOP (Human and Organizational Performance) and other recent developments in safety management.
Managing the occupational injury process and coordinating all return-to-work activities.
Investigating and establishing standards for personal protective equipment.
Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and preparing reports.
Reviewing safety and environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations and customer expectations.
Working with customers to ensure our safety-related on-site activities are aligned with our contracts and their expectations.
Developing incident prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies.
Developing and implementing environmental programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and in support of company environmental guidelines including but not limited to air permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection and disposal, and management of refrigerants.
Managing and coordinating safety activities to ensure implementation of best practice safety activities throughout Business Unit and assist the global team in adopting relevant policies.
Monitoring programs / reports for trends and taking appropriate action to alert management.
Providing technical input to teams and recommending future environmental and safety preventative actions including alternative methods or equipment to eliminate potential problem areas.
Creating, administering, and conducting safety and environmental training to support established programs.
Developing, tracking, analyzing, and communicating reactive and proactive safety statistics and environmental reporting and statistics.
Submitting all required safety and environmental reports on time and accurately as required by laws and regulations.
Coordinating involvement with regulatory and management system inspections and audits.
