American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg RN with a TN or compact RN license, 2 years of med / surg experience, and the ability to manage 1 : 7 patient ratios.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a medical-surgical unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift position with options for 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, 18 : 30-07 : 00
  • Rotating weekends and holiday coverage required
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks
  • Floating to other units required as needed
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 7
  • General orientation begins on Sundays with completion of online CBLs included
  • Modules and orientation sessions required, averaging 4-5 hours, are non-billable and tracked electronically
  • Contract team members are expected to support and educate nursing students during clinical shifts
  • First time travelers are encouraged to apply
  • Candidates must be prepared to complete drug testing 12-14 days prior to start and may need to test a second time if required
  • BSN required only for international travelers
  • No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius

  • Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent med / surg experience required
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications preferred
  • Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
  • Ability to participate in fit testing in compliance with CDC guidelines (facial hair must be trimmed or removed)
