We are looking for a skilled Grant Accountant to join our team in Parma, Ohio. This is a Contract-to-Permanent opportunity offering hybrid work flexibility after initial in-office training. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in grant financial management and accounting processes, with the ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain grant ledgers by forecasting expenses and recording actual expenditures for multiple entities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements, staying updated on evolving guidelines.
- Crosscheck and verify data across various systems, including financial accounting, payroll, and reporting platforms.
- Prepare invoices, reconcile grant expenses, and process requests for payments to funding agencies.
- File cash requests for grants and provide necessary financial information to support month-end close activities.
- Assist with audits, including federal, state, and compliance audits related to multiple entities.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage large workbooks and track grant-related data.
- Collaborate with teams to discuss grant processes and provide detailed support as needed.
- Handle multiple projects and adapt to dynamic situations effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting, with strong knowledge of grant management.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including experience in grants financial administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains software.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manage large workbooks and perform complex data analysis.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and government grant reporting standards.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
