The Sprinkler Division Apprentice will perform tasks at various job sites and develop the skills necessary to install, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems under supervision. The Sprinkler Division Apprentice will be expected to use a variety hand and power tools and will become familiar with trade specific materials related to the projects they are working.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Picking and sorting of pipe, fittings and hardware associated with the building construction trades.
- Sorting and staging fire sprinkler pipe and materials.
- Cleaning and prepping sprinkler pipe for installation.
- Hauling pipe, fittings and hardware from staging areas to installation location.
- Responsible for loading and / or unloading trucks manually or with motorized lifts. The Sprinkler Division Apprentice will not be allowed to operate lifts until properly trained.
- Measuring, cutting and grooving sprinkler pipe to specifications.
- Cutting and drilling penetrations through walls and floors for pipe installation.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Education / Qualifications :
Must have a minimum of 1 year of trades experience.High school diploma or GED.Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Ability to travel and have a flexible work schedule.Other Duties :
Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements :
Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs.Ability to work at excessive heights.Ability to walk and maneuver self around construction job sites and climb ladders.Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy pipe daily (10-40 lbs frequently and 50-75 lbs occasionally).Bending and squatting frequently and for long periods of time.Reaching and performing work above shoulder level frequently and for long periods of time.Ability to withstand occasional exposure to hot, cold, and / or inclement weather on job sites.Ability to wear PPE such as steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glass, safety harnesses, and hard hats occasionally on job sites.Benefits and Perks :
