Location : Des Moines, IA

Position Type : Locum-to-Perm Physician OBGYN

Overview

An excellent opportunity for an OBGYN physician to join a structured OB Hospitalist program in Des Moines. Physicians in this role will provide 24-hour in-house coverage , managing deliveries, emergent patients, and OBED cases with full MFM support.

Practice Highlights

  • Inpatient only role no GYN responsibilities
  • OBED : 8-bed unit with 1,389 visits annually ( 463 deliveries)
  • MFM support available on call
  • Residents onsite (not under hospitalist responsibility)
  • Epic EMR in use
  • Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy available on-site
  • Only maternity transport team in Iowa

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified (or truly Board Eligible) in OBGYN REQUIRED
  • IA license or IMLC REQUIRED (must provide LOQ at name clear)
  • Clean malpractice and background REQUIRED
  • No APP supervision required

  • Start Date : January 1, 2026
  • Shifts per Month : 6.5
  • Shift Length : 24 hours (7a 7a)
  • On-Call : 24 / 7 in-house call (call rooms provided)
