Urgent care provides walk in care seven days a week. We offer onsite lab, X-ray capabilities and the ability to treat minor trauma in addition to providing the usual stitches and care for illness. We pride ourselves in being excellent communicators and coordinating our care with the local family practice providers. Provide quality care to patients according to clinical medical protocols Initiate an appropriate assessment of patient's health status, ranging from focused to comprehensive, depending upon the setting; Provide and manage comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of diseases, common health problems, such as infections, influenza and pneumonia, as well as serious, chronic, and complex illnesses for patients of all ages; Monitor patient's conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary; Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients; Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention and educate patients about preventative measures to avoid illness; Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work; Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary; Prescribe medication in accordance with Nebraska statue and professional practice guidelines; Immunize patients to protect them from preventable diseases; Participate in formulating, interpreting, implementing, and evaluating objectives, policies, and procedures; Assist with quality improvement activities as required and participates in Quality Assurance and Utilization Reviews; Perform diagnostic tests and procedures and therapeutic procedures, within the scope of practice, including but not limited to venipuncture; intradermal tests; intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; electro-cardiogram; application of dressings and bandages; administration of medications; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; auditory screening; visual screening; and aseptic techniques; Analyze accumulated health information and collects additional observational, interview, historical, physical examination, and diagnostic data, modifying treatment as appropriate; Have a working knowledge of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS coding and managed care, and be available for training as necessary; Maintain and complete patients health records or charts legibly, concisely and close it within 48 hours and / or by the end of serviced week; Participate in the on-call / weekend rotation schedule as needed; Be flexible to work between different site Actively participate in faculty meetings at affiliate hospital and SERPA ACO; Keep up all licenses and board certifications as required. Keep up with CME and maintenance of board certification as required Salary range - Obtain from VP Physician Relations / Business Development (2nd phone interview - following initial phone interview with Physician Recruitment Specialist) Health Insurance paid by corporation Dental and Vision available Short Term Disability paid by the corporation Life Insurance paid by the corporation Malpractice paid by the corporation 401K after 1 year of employment Four weeks of PTO $5,000 for CME or Professional Dues In fall 2021, the hospital competed a $35M expansion and renovation projects, which allowed us to add a new surgical services area, maternal child health department and senior behavioral health unit. In October 2021, the hospital broke ground on its new 260,000 square foot, $55M fieldhouse. The fieldhouse is an extension of the hospitals mission to enhance community wellness. It will offer indoor and outdoor fitness and recreation areas, including tennis courts, a football field, a soccer field, basketball courts, batting cages, youth activities spaces, a suspended track for walking and running and more. Expected completion is late 2023 or early 2024. The hospital emergency department is staffed 24 / 7 by hospital-employed physicians and is designated as a Level III trauma center. Additional highlights of our state-of-the-art facility include advanced diagnostic imaging services provided by a 1.5T wide bore MRI, 64- and 128-slice CT scanners, a hybrid OR room and two digital breast tomosynthesis mammography machines. We also have strong, in-house adult and pediatric hospitalist programs and an excellent nursing staff. Columbus sits at the confluence of the Loup and Platte rivers, which provide a bounty of wildlife viewing, kayaking, hunting, fishing and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It is a community of 22,000 and is one of the states most progressive and dynamic communities.
