The Manager, Marketing plays a critical role in developing and executing the company's marketing strategy in alignment with overall business goals. This individual will lead a small but highly capable team while collaborating closely with Sales, Customer Service, Product and external partners. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on; skilled at creating actionable marketing plans, developing engaging content, analyzing performance, and ensuring brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop annual marketing plans that align with company goals and objectives.
- Translate business objectives into actionable marketing programs that drive awareness, conversion, and retention.
- Assist VP of Marketing in market analysis, competitive research, annual budgeting process, and long-term strategic planning.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor a team consisting of a Graphic Designer, Content Producer, and Digital Marketing Coordinator.Foster a collaborative, creative, and performance-driven culture.Provide clear goals, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities.Content & Collateral Development
Oversee creation of all sales and marketing content, including presentations, catalogs, product sheets, videos, photography, social media, email campaigns, tradeshow materials, merchandising / POP materials, and website assets.Ensure timely and effective delivery of marketing assets to support sales enablement and customer engagement.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Sales team to deliver tools that support sell-in and revenue growth.Partner with Customer Service to ensure marketing programs align with customer needs, product launches, and service initiatives.Coordinate with D2C team to ensure a consistent brand experience across D2C channels (crkt.com and Amazon).Promote "voice of the consumer" for the brand and work across the organization to prioritize and implement end consumer-centric solutions for the company.Brand & Consumer Engagement
Ensure consistent brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across all consumer touchpoints, including retail, e-commerce, social media, advertising, and tradeshows.Manage external vendors and agencies to support marketing campaigns, creative projects, and event execution.The Manager, Marketing is expected to go on camera at times for trade shows, product presentations, interviews, and brand video initiatives.Market Research & Analysis
Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed of industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity.Provide actionable insights to guide product positioning, campaign development, and channel strategies.Performance Measurement & Reporting
Define, track, analyze, and report on department KPIs.Continuously optimize marketing strategies based on performance metrics and business impact.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.5–7 years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a management role.Experience developing content strategy and executing across owned and paid digital channels.Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing plans.Strong background in content creation, digital marketing, and sales enablement.Understanding of retail merchandising and experience developing POP materials.Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing small teams.Experience managing influencer programs and brand partnerships.Strong analytical skills with experience tracking KPIs and leveraging data for decision-making.Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.Experience managing external vendors and agencies.Passion for the knife industry and an understanding of knife consumer culture preferred.Travel up to 20% is required for this position. Ability to travel via commercial aircraft required. Possible travel could include two to three trips annually to trade shows where CRKT exhibits.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
