NICU RN Travel Job Details Assignment Type : Travel Nurse Contract Location : Lubbock, Texas 79410 Facility : Children’s Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Unit : NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 16, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks Shifts : 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM) Hours per Week : 36 Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-4 Scrub Color : Navy (RN) Parking : Free in any unrestricted space; bike racks available Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,950 – $2,090 NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience required BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Ability to float to PICU and pediatric units as needed At least 1 year of pediatric or neonatal experience required Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Willingness to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day) NICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to neonates in a Level II / III / IV NICU setting Administer blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, antivirals, and other specialized neonatal treatments Perform APGAR scoring, manage arterial lines, and assist with lumbar punctures Monitor blood glucose, provide breastfeeding support, and manage bubble CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula Care for central lines, colostomies, ileostomies, and provide developmental care for neonates Manage feeding methods (bottle, breast, gavage), ventilators, and oxygen delivery systems Respond to a variety of neonatal diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and surgical cases (excluding cardiac) Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay Float to PICU and pediatric units as needed based on hospital census Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Apply now to join our healthcare team and make a difference as a NICU Registered Nurse in Lubbock, Texas!
