Description

Our client recycles all types of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal. We are looking to bring on 1 lead maintenance mechanic and 3 maintenance mechanics to perform repairs on their very large scrap shredder machine. Mechanics will come in after the production shift ends at 4 and will perform maintenance on the Shredder machine. Techs will go through their daily maintenance checklist. Will perform maintenance on conveyor tracks, rollers, air systems, gear boxes. Lost of cleaning will clean pipes, chisel out parts stuck in shredder, lots of shoveling. This job will be outside year round must be comfortable working through the seasonal elements. May operate forklifts, skid steers, and perform basic welding tasks.

Night shift Schedule : 5 : 00pm - 3 : 00am Mon-Fri

Pay : $30-$34

• Industrial Maintenance Experience : Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably in a heavy industrial or recycling environment
• Millwright Skills : Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery
• Heavy Equipment Operation : Proficient in operating forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment
• Welding & Fabrication : Basic welding skills (MIG, stick) and ability to perform minor fabrication tasks
• Physical Stamina : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, shoveling, and working in confined spaces
• Outdoor Readiness : Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
• Safety Focused : Strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols
• Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams
• Problem Solving : Capable of diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions
• Leadership (Lead Mechanic only) : Experience leading maintenance teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring work quality and safety compliance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience using a front-end loader, excavator, forklift, skid steer or scrap handler in an Industrial / Outdoor Work Environment

Ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day

Ability to walk up several flights of stairs and work at heights above one-story

Knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles

Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions

Stable work history

Flexible to work off hours, weekends, and holidays : including overtime and six days a week as required by production as well as in varying indoor / outdoor industrial working conditions

Able to complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00 / hr.
