What would you do as a Used Car Reconditioning Advisor

As a new Full Time Used Car Reconditioning Advisor at Fox Grand Traverse, your day-to-day responsibilities will include assessing the condition of used vehicles and creating detailed reconditioning plans. You will collaborate with technicians to prioritize repairs and upgrades, ensuring all work aligns with our high standards of safety and excellence. Daily tasks will involve tracking the progress of vehicle reconditioning, maintaining communication with the sales team, and providing updates to management. You will utilize our proprietary systems to document your findings and recommendations while fostering a customer-centric approach throughout the reconditioning process.

You will need excellent organizational abilities to coordinate the reconditioning process and serve as the central point of contact for inspections, maintenance, repairs, and detailing. Proficiency in creating and managing repair orders (ROs) is crucial, enabling you to efficiently assign tasks to relevant departments like the service bay or detail center. Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with New and Used Car Sales Managers and sales staff, as well as coordinating with external vendors for specialized services.

Your ability to monitor and prioritize workflow will help avoid backlogs, ensuring that vehicles are reconditioned promptly. Additionally, analytical skills are important for documenting and analyzing data to identify bottlenecks and improve the process. A keen eye for detail will aid in ensuring quality control through final inspections before vehicles are released for sale. Your proactive approach will contribute significantly to our high standards of excellence.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• Coordinate the reconditioning process : Act as the central point of contact for reconditioning work, ensuring vehicles move efficiently through inspections, maintenance, repairs, and detailing.
• Create and manage repair orders (ROs) : Write and approve repair orders for all necessary work on a vehicle. This includes assigning tasks to the correct department, such as the service bay or detail center.
• Monitor and prioritize workflow : Track each vehicle's progress throughout the reconditioning process to ensure timely completion. Manage internal schedules to avoid backlogs and reduce the time a vehicle spends out of inventory.
• Order and track parts : Coordinate with the parts department to ensure all necessary parts are ordered and available when technicians are ready to begin work.
• Communicate with New and Used Car Sales Managers, and sales employees : Coordinate the scheduling and work of any external vendors needed for specialized services like paintless dent removal or wheel repair.
• Document and analyze data : Maintain detailed records of all work performed and costs incurred for each vehicle. Analyze this data to identify bottlenecks and improve the overall efficiency of the reconditioning process.
• Ensure quality control : Complete a final walk-through of the vehicle to ensure that all services were performed correctly and that the vehicle meets the dealership's standards for resale.
• Other duties as assigned.
