Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN in New York with Epic experience and necessary advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department with both adult and pediatric patient populations
  • Mixed / shared acuity levels with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 5
  • Evening shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 15 : 00 to 03 : 00
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Floating required when census warrants
  • Epic charting required
  • Primary responsibilities include delivering emergent care, medication administration, multisystem support, and emergency interventions to diverse patient groups
  • Scrub color is any combination of navy and white
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Minimal RTO is requested; all time off must be requested up front
  • Holiday coverage may be required per unit needs
  • Modules must be completed prior to start and may require up to 10 hours of completion time
  • Return staff must have at least 1 year since last assignment at this facility
  • Three call-off shifts are permitted per 13-week assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license in hand is required
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Proven ability to perform in high-acuity settings including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction / failure management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CVA management, and isolation precautions
  • Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
