This community emergency department offers robust physician and APC coverage across all shifts, a strong subspecialty backup network, and competitive compensation with full travel support. Assignment Highlights Location : Aiken, South Carolina Specialty : Emergency Medicine Start Date : ASAP – Ongoing Shift Structure : All shifts available Physicians : 7a–4p, 11a–9p, 4p–2a, 9p–7a APCs : 8a–6p, 11a–9p, 6p–4a Coverage Model : Physicians : 40 hours / day APCs : 30–36 hours / day Annual ED Volume : ~40,000 visits Patient Volume : 2–2.3 patients / hour Hospital Beds : 273 | ED Beds : 35 Fast Track : Available Admission Rate : 20–25% Trauma Designation : Transitioning to Level IV (currently non-designated) EMR : Cerner Privileges : Standard credentialing timeline (no temporary privileges noted) Travel : Included Clinical Environment Full range of Emergency Medicine practice across all acuity levels Dedicated ICU with intensivist support Subspecialty backup includes : Anesthesiology, Cardiac Cath, CT Surgery, General Surgery, OB / GYN, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, Radiology, Urology, Vascular Surgery, and more Referral Resources : Trauma (AUMC), Pediatrics (AUMC), Burn (Doctors Hospital) Candidate Requirements Board Certification : ABEM required Licensure : Active South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain Certifications : ACLS & ATLS required Experience : Minimum 3 years Emergency Medicine preferred Skills : Full-scope EM physician practice, comfortable collaborating with APCs Why This Opportunity?
