Overview
We are seeking a Content Moderation Leader responsible for global content moderation strategy and execution with a focus on youth media. You will lead and mentor a team of moderators, ensuring decisions are consistent, efficient, and aligned with our mission to keep kids and teens safer online. You will design and evolve moderation policies that meet the highest safety standards while remaining compliant with regulations across jurisdictions.
What you'll do
- Design, implement and manage global product, format and platform-specific moderation processes and best practices across YouTube content, games, mobile apps, streaming content and sites.
- Drive projects to improve global operations and workflows, prioritizing technology-enabled automation for content moderation.
- Collect, manage, and distribute data and insights related to policy enforcement and moderator productivity.
- Lead and grow a global team of outsourced moderators, developing training programs and operational benchmarks.
- Optimize processes to achieve competitive unit economics for moderated content.
- Design, implement, and refine clear and adaptive moderation policies that align with industry best practices and legal requirements (COPPA, GDPR, etc.).
- Use metrics and analytics to guide staffing models, performance improvements, and proactive risk identification.
- Collaborate with product, legal, engineering, and customer success teams to embed moderation considerations into the product lifecycle.
- Manage incident response protocols, ensuring swift action, transparent reporting, and effective mitigation.
- Onboard and manage third-party moderation services, setting up workflows to identify policy-violating content and coordinate appropriate actions across surfaces.
- Stay current with regulatory trends and raise industry standards for content safety.
- Balance quality and efficiency by implementing QA programs to audit moderation decisions and drive consistency and accuracy.
Who you are
5+ years of experience in content moderation or trust & safety leadership, especially in highly regulated or youth-focused environments.Proven track record in scaling moderation operations across regions and platforms.Strong ability to create, translate, and enforce policy in fast-moving environments.Data-oriented with experience setting KPIs, using reporting tools, and driving operational insights.Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator with leadership presence.Hands-on mindset, calm under pressure, and ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving policy needs.Comfort working across cross-functional teams as a connective layer between business and product / engineering.Commitment to privacy-first advertising.Ability to balance safety / compliance with innovation and agility.Our benefits
