PURPOSE :

We are seeking a hands-on Staff Engineer to join our platform engineering team, where you'll drive both critical technical and product engineering initiatives. You’ll help build for the future of Wondr’s event-driven architecture, building products and services at scale. You'll also play a key role in shaping our developer experience strategy, helping to bridge the gap between our infrastructure and platform engineering teams.

Key focus areas include contributing to Wondr’s event streaming and messaging services, cloud architecture, monitoring and observability, and developer productivity and deployment tools.

What We're Looking For

Required :

8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with significant infrastructure and platform contributions

Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners (product, design, leadership)

Expert-level knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)

Strong experience building and optimizing CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI)

Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Proven track record improving developer experience and productivity through tooling and automation

Strong understanding of developer workflows and ability to identify and eliminate friction points

Experience building self-service platforms and internal developer portals

Strong coding skills in multiple languages (Python, TypeScript, PHP, etc.)

Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools

Preferred :

Experience driving the delivery of large complex features across multiple teams

Experience with service mesh technologies, GitOps practices, and progressive delivery

Track record of successfully transforming developer workflows and tooling at scale

Experience with local development environment optimization (containers, dev containers, cloud development environments)

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS :

General office working conditions can be remote from home or in the office. Each department head determines if position is work from home or hybrid meaning works from home and in the office as needed. Work schedules vary. When working in the office pod, the workstation area has little or no privacy. Involves extended periods of sitting at a workstation performing computer duties. Constant flow of interruptions by personnel, visitors to the area and telephone calls. Private workstations are available as needed. Certain positions are assigned to an office.
