Elawa Farm Foundation’s mission is to steward a historic farm that enriches greater Lake County as a

center for experiential learning to broaden access to education, nutritious food, and our local food

system. We gather community through food and agriculture with a sustainable farm, weekly market,

café, learning kitchen, farm animal program, and educational programming for youth and adults.

Private events at Elawa Farm—including weddings, corporate dinners, and weekly farm-to-table

community gatherings—support our philanthropic mission and provide guests with meaningful

experiences rooted in hospitality and community.

Position Summary

The Banquet Server plays a vital role in creating exceptional guest experiences at private and

community events. This position supports the Events Team with high-level service, event setup and

breakdown, and seamless coordination to ensure every occasion reflects the quality and mission of

Elawa Farm Foundation.

Essential Functions

  • Provide warm, professional service during weddings, private dinners, and farm-to-table events.
  • Execute a variety of service styles including plated dinners, family-style, and passed hors

d’oeuvres.

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including linens, place settings, tables, and chairs.
  • Deliver beverage service, including wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Maintain clean and organized service areas throughout events.
  • Collaborate with Captains, Bartenders, Porters, and the Events Team to ensure guest  satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Core Competencies and Professional Qualifications

  • At least 2 years in banquet, catering, or restaurant service experience required.
  • Excellent hospitality skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended period and assist with setup / breakdown tasks.
  • Flexibility to work blackout dates such as holidays or weddings; daytime, weekends, as schedule  requires.
  • Status : Part-time, seasonal, non-exempt

    Compensation : Hourly rate is $25 / hour

    Education : Highschool diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality or service training preferred.
