H&H Cantina, a modern Mexican cocktail lounge in the East Village, is looking for a skilled and reliable Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, creativity, and consistency — and who wants to grow within a forward-thinking hospitality group that bridges pastry, mixology, and modern Mexican cuisine.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality desserts, bases, and components that support both the kitchen and the mixology team. This includes working on pastry production, clarifications, infusions, and ingredient prep used in our world-class cocktail program.

The role requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about both pastry and liquid flavor development. You’ll be working closely with our chefs and mixologists to execute recipes with exact measurements and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent product quality
  • Weigh, measure, and portion ingredients precisely using scales and proper techniques
  • Prepare and assist with clarifications, infusions, and syrups for the bar program
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow kitchen sanitation standards
  • Assist with daily prep, production schedules, and inventory management
  • Communicate effectively with the culinary and mixology teams

Requirements

  • Previous professional pastry experience is a must
  • Strong understanding of recipe structure, weights, and ingredient scaling
  • Experience with clarifications, reductions, or infusions is a major plus
  • Passion for creativity, flavor, and presentation
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work nights / weekends as needed
