About Beacon Kalamazoo
Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24 / 7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries / illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart / vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women’s health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation therapy services.
What You’ll Do
As a Medical Assistant, you’ll report to the Practice Manager and work under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and Office Supervisor. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, you’ll perform various clerical and patient care duties. Responsibilities include assisting the physician in support of medical care, phlebotomy, answering the telephone, admitting and discharging patients, and performing data entry.

As a Medical Assistant you bring knowledge of and competency in performing patient care procedures, observations, treatments and techniques utilized by facility. You have the ability to perform vena puncture. You demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently receive and greet visitors, clients, and staff members in a professional manner. You demonstrate well developed communication skills to communicate effectively and clearly to a variety of internal and external contacts. You bring knowledge of billing, office procedures and computer skills. You demonstrate analytical skills necessary to solve patient problems and interpret data. You promote collaboration and innovation in the clinical services to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to improving health care delivery and the quality of patient care. You have the ability to perform EKG's and other procedures applicable to the practice.
