About the Role
Join our team in Fort Smith, AR 72916, where you will build and assemble steel structures that stand up to rigorous quality and safety standards. As a Structural Steel Fabrication Welder, you will turn drawings into durable, precisely built components.
A Day in Your Boots
- Lay out, fit, and weld structural members—beams, columns, frames—according to project requirements.
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specs to determine weld symbols, joint prep, and sequence.
- Measure and mark materials with tape accuracy down to 1 / 16" to ensure precise fit-up.
- Execute MIG, Flux-Cored (FCAW), and Stick (SMAW) welds to complete assignments safely and efficiently.
- Verify weld quality and compliance with applicable codes and internal standards.
- Keep work areas clean and hazard-free while following all safety procedures.
- Coordinate with fabricators and supervisors to meet schedules and address issues promptly.
- Perform routine care and minor maintenance on welding equipment to maintain peak performance.
