Safety Manager

The Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing safety standards across various job sites in California, Nevada, and Texas. This position requires conducting safety audits, PPE compliance checks, and new hire orientations, while maintaining and tracking safety documentation. The role involves engaging with approximately 135 field staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field safety audits, PPE compliance checks, and safety walkthroughs at job sites across California, Nevada, and Texas.
  • Engage directly with field staff, including mechanics and installers, to ensure safety standards and protocols are followed.
  • Deliver new hire orientations and OSHA crash courses.
  • Maintain and track safety documentation, including audits, incident logs, and training records.
  • Visit job sites to perform safety walkthroughs, conduct hazard analyses, and address field staff questions.
  • Complete paperwork and onboarding activities in the office as needed.
  • Coordinate and schedule quarterly site visits to Dallas, Las Vegas, and Northern California.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is stocked with PPE and that supplies are maintained at all locations.

Essential Skills

  • OSHA 30 certification is mandatory; OSHA 510 is preferred.
  • 23 years of field safety experience, preferably in construction.
  • Ability to conduct safety walkthroughs, manage OSHA logs, and evaluate incidents professionally.
  • Comfortable with rooftop inspections and physically demanding tasks.
  • Approachability, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish) ability to enhance communication with a diverse field staff.
  • Experience in fleet safety, PPE management, and driving record tracking.
  • Familiarity with safety tracking platforms and tailgate meetings.
  • Prior experience in construction safety.
  • Ability to travel and manage PPE inventory across multiple regions.
  • Work Environment

    This role emphasizes field engagement with minimal office time. The Safety Manager will work at job sites across California, Nevada, and Texas, performing physically demanding tasks such as rooftop inspections at large commercial properties. Office time is limited to paperwork, onboarding, and training sessions. Travel is required once per quarter to Dallas, Las Vegas, and Northern California, typically involving overnight trips. The position offers autonomy in scheduling travel and site visits, with standard daytime hours and flexibility. Appropriate attire, including PPE such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, vests, and sturdy footwear, is required for field visits. Office attire is business casual.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Fullerton, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00 / yr. A company vehicle (likely a Honda or Hyundai) is provided for work-related travel, and the Safety Manager is responsible for keeping the vehicle stocked with PPE, including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and vests.
