Utilization Review Associate

Position Summary :

Armada Recovery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Utilization Review Associate to support our clinical team and ensure timely and accurate communication with insurance providers. This individual will play a key role in securing authorizations, maintaining compliance, and serving as a liaison between insurance reviewers and our clinicians. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, Excel-proficient, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities :

Understand and navigate a variety of insurance policies, including commercial, Medicaid, and other managed care plans

Submit authorization requests for patient treatment in a timely and accurate manner

Monitor and track all submitted requests and communicate updates to clinical and administrative teams

Collaborate with clinicians to ensure documentation supports medical necessity

Serve as the point of contact between insurance reviewers and facility clinicians to clarify care plans, treatment needs, or documentation

Maintain detailed and organized records of authorizations, denials, and approvals

Utilize Excel to track patient authorization status, levels of care, and insurance information

Support ongoing compliance with UR standards and state / federal regulations

Assist in the appeal process for denied authorizations when needed

Requirements :

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while supporting a team-based environment

Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications :

Prior experience in utilization review, insurance verification, or medical billing is a plus, but not required

Knowledge of substance abuse treatment levels of care (e.g., detox, residential, PHP, IOP) is helpful

Familiarity with behavioral health documentation and terminology is an advantage

Pay Range :

• $41,000.00-$47,000.00
