The Senior Database Administrator will manage and maintain court databases of simple to high complexity, helping to optimize database configuration and access, and resolve database performance and capacity issues.
Provides system planning, administration, and support of high risk, high impact elements of AOC database operations for the Judicial Information Systems serving Washington's judiciary.

Responsibilities
Installs, configures, and maintains Db2 for z / OS database software products as required by the user community to support high availability, reliability, and performance.Maintains, monitors, performs performance tuning, backup and recovery of databases, and analyzes capacity requirements.Responds to customer service requests and provides senior level troubleshooting, problem resolution, and consulting.Participates in design reviews of high risk, high impact statewide systems and services.Provides technical mentorship and coaching to other system support staff.Reviews and evaluates work products for accuracy and applicability.Leads duties for a workgroup, resolving procedure or workflow conflicts and informing management of needs and concerns.Performs other duties as required.Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Software / Computer Engineering, or closely allied field.Eight (8) years of senior-level experience working with relational database systems.Combination of education and experience demonstrating the duties and competencies of a Senior Db2 for z / OS Database Administrator may be considered as a substitute.Ideal Applicant will also have some or all of the following experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Expertise in deploying, configuring, and maintaining database software.Building and managing databases / instances and maintaining development, test, and production environments.Monitoring systems and databases to ensure availability, reliability, security, and performance.Handling high-availability environments, incident response, and resolution.Managing instance and database security and performing performance tuning (query, index, server).Implementing backup and recovery procedures and testing disaster recovery scenarios.Complying with change control and patching processes.Providing technical support and guidance to end users.Producing documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.Supporting scheduled after-hours maintenance and being on call for 24 / 7 support.Understanding the enterprise impact of high-risk, high-profile initiatives.Effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure environments.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products (Teams, Outlook, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Team-oriented, collaborative work style.Strong leadership and high self-motivation.Ability to accept personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of work.Knowledge of business processes, computer applications, operating systems, and current technologies.Rapid learning ability and adaptability to new concepts and skills.How to Apply
