About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Experience :

Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care.

Preferred : 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care.

License :

Current state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Certifications :

Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an approved equivalent.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within 6 months of hire.

Must-Have :

Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.

Description :

A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures.

These activities are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system.

Respiratory Care services include, but are not limited to, therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing performed using medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.

Administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system is included.

Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems, is a critical function.

Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises are performed as needed.

Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation are essential duties.

Maintenance of natural and artificial airways is also required.

These procedures are performed in both critical and non-critical care areas on patients of all ages.

The practitioner is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
