Job Summary
The HR Operations Officer serves as the administrative point of contact for admin and HR inquiries, responds to routine emails and acts as the first point of contact in providing appropriate contacts and resources. Under general direction, applies organization policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing administrative and HR operational functions. Administers a defined operational program. Analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope.
Will oversee a variety of ongoing administrative and operational matters including coordination of various meetings and events, faculty candidate and guest visits, communications, organizing and prioritizing multiple requests and a variety of HR and finance activities. The position will be required to maintain positive relationships with the Department faculty and staff. Responding promptly to inquiries and the ability to resolve administrative and operational issues as they arise. The Administrative Officer will work closely with the department's Director of Academic Affairs to coordinate and prepare PCMA cases for submission to Human Resources. These actions could include a variety of tasks stemming from new hires to searches, recruitment, for staff, non-faculty trainees, Visiting Scholars, Affiliates, and Volunteers, including communication with ISSO regarding visas, monitor HR reports for limited hires hours, visa and appointment dates. Works to ensure new hires receive basic orientation examples coordinating with IT to provide emails, necessary access to systems; ID badge, working with Facilities coordinator to assign a cubicle space on the 5th floor, providing additional support as needed. This position will support the Director of Academic Affairs and the Chief Administrative Officer with scheduling meetings, special projects, faculty support and department events. They will also support the Financial Analyst through assisting with administrative duties for ledger reconciliations and manage the division's procurement processes as well as other duties both financial and administrative.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $29.05 - $53.50 (Hourly Rate).

Ophthalmology became established as a department separate from Otolaryngology in 1912 at the University of California San Francisco. Since that time the Department of Ophthalmology has grown steadily and today includes the clinical facilities of three major hospitals. The Department of Ophthalmology is organized around faculty members with subspecialty skills and expertise. The department combines one of the nation's leading vision research programs with outstanding clinical care. The research and multicenter clinical facilities of the Department of Ophthalmology comprise the Beckman Vision Center.
