Job Title : Mainframe Developer Location : Addison,TX / Chandler,AZ Work Arrangement : Onsite-5days / week Client Industry : Banking Duration : 12 -18 months Contract Schedule : Monday to Friday About the Role We are hiring a strong Mainframe Developer Key Responsibilities : Mainframe Development : Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL and SAS in a z / OS environment. Write and optimize JCL for batch processing and job scheduling. Develop and maintain DB2 data structures, SQL queries, and data access logic. System Maintenance & Optimization : Analyze and resolve production issues, including abends and performance bottlenecks. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Tune DB2 queries and programs for optimal performance. Integration & Modernization : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legacy systems with modern applications and APIs. Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and re-platforming initiatives. Support efforts to expose mainframe functionality via interfaces with server-based systems. Documentation & Compliance : Maintain detailed technical documentation for programs, processes, and data flows. Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications : 8+ years of experience in COBOL and SAS programming. 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB2 in a mainframe environment. Strong knowledge of : JCL, utilities, REX DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG) SQL performance tuning and optimization Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Compensation Hourly Rate : 60$-70$ per hour This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
