Project Manager, Continuous Improvement
Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Project Manager, Continuous Improvement in Suwanee, GA.
Position Summary
The Project Manager, Continuous Improvement supports the development and sustainability of lean processes, utilizing a range of basic Lean and continuous improvement tools. They will plan, facilitate, and execute focused continuous improvement (CI) activities including A3 projects, kaizen events, and other initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement engagement, waste elimination, and ongoing improvements in safety, quality, delivery, service, and cost. They will promote and implement best practices in all aspects of continuous improvement work, serving as a role model for operational excellence.
Essential Functions
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following :
- Serves as a change agent across the organization, providing training and guidance from the frontline to middle management in the effective use of Lean and continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
- Communicates key insights and findings succinctly and effectively to team members and various levels of management, both in person and as a contributor to the department newsletter.
- Develops and communicates metrics on project outcomes and business impact.
- Manages resources, project scope, and deliverables for assigned kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring successful execution.
- Utilizes True North Metrics (HEQDCI) and PDCA cycles to track and report on kaizen event status at defined intervals (30 / 60 / 90 days), verifying progress toward milestones and sustainability of solutions.
- Utilizes strong analytical and synthesis skills to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement.
- Assists process owners in developing and refining True North Metrics and implementing the Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) process.
- Facilitates cross-functional improvement activities in assigned areas, supporting data collection and analysis including Kaizen events, A3 projects, working sessions, Just Do Its (JDIs), and process redesign initiatives.
- Uses core Lean and METUS Business System (MBS) tools (e.g., Standard Work, Quick Changeover (QCO), Poka Yoke, 5S, Gemba Walks, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping) to drive waste elimination, maximize value, and build employee engagement.
- Drives standardization and sustainment of improvements through clear documentation, effective training, and structured change management.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external customers, fostering trust and collaboration.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Business (Master's preferred).47 years of direct, hands-on experience in continuous improvement, Lean, or process improvement roles.Green Belt certification required (Black Belt preferred) with demonstrated, practical application from a reputable organization.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills; proven ability to use data to identify, analyze, and implement solutions.Project management and change management experience, with a track record of delivering sustainable and measurable improvements.Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels; able to synthesize and convey complex information simply and effectively.Leadership experience in a cross-functional environment, with the ability to influence, coach, and facilitate teams without direct authority.Demonstrated high-quality work output with high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others in Lean or continuous improvement tools and methodologies, fostering a culture of learning.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and process mapping / project management software.Demonstrates METUS core values : desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution, and learn continuously.The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85,600 and $117,700 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental / disability / emergency / etc.] leave, if eligible.
