Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager Shared Services role includes managing and coordinating the Shared Services A / P and A / R operations and Supervisors, including all related aspects of payable and receivables and applicable reporting. This role also supports general ledger shared services items such as Plant support, general and fixed asset accounting, etc. when needed.
Hybrid Schedule : 3 days in office / 2 days remote
Core Responsibilities :
- Supervise, motivate and train Shared Services A / P and AR Supervisors and staff, as needed
- Assign duties and monitor quality of work for department staff, assuring staff conforms to organizational policies, accounting controls and government regulations
- Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship and oversight of subordinates
- Actively work to promote staff development and recognize staff performance
- AR and AP Internal Control owner responsible for review of, applying updates to and ensuring adherence to applicable Accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley controls
- Remain up to date on activities of the team, identify problem areas and take corrective actions, as needed
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual A / P and A / R Close cycle, including preparation of, and / or review of, journal entries, account reconciliations and other reporting requirements as needed
- Assist in the preparation and review of consolidated financial results, and other required financial reports, analyses, and / or presentations
- Assist in the preparation and / or review of various internal and external reporting requirements.
- Maintain a working analysis of the department's operation, while recommending any needed improvements of accounting policies or procedures to management
- Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports as needed, including reports required by regulatory agencies, banks, investors, and other external parties
- Prepare, review and / or analyze complex financial information and transactions
- Participate in the implementation and testing of financial systems as needed
What you need to be successful :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent6+ years of related accounting experience preferredStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and treasury functionsDemonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinatesProficient on ERP systems and MS OfficeCommitment to excellence and high standardsAcute attention to detailAbility to work with all levels of managementStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsAble to manage priorities and workflowSound judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsVersatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmWhy The Shyft Group?
