Job Summary
The Commercial Lining Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients while managing all aspects of the sales and service process for epoxy lining projects. This role combines business development, estimating, project coordination, and customer relationship management to ensure exceptional service delivery and long-term client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the commercial sales process, and be skilled at identifying client needs, coordinating project details, and providing tailored solutions that uphold the Bill Howe standard of excellence.
A solid understanding of the plumbing and building trades is not required, but is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial lining accounts through excellent service and consistent communication.
- Develop new business by identifying, pursuing, and closing commercial opportunities within the greater San Diego area, California and beyond.
- Conduct job walks, prepare detailed estimates, and coordinate with field teams and management to ensure accurate scope and execution.
- Schedule, coordinate and present at meetings with commercial customers and decision makers at their availability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, providing updates, resolving issues, understanding and communicating scheduling, and maintaining strong B2B relationships.
- Evaluate business processes and contribute to structured workflow improvements across the lining division.
- Analyze project information, customer coordination, company policies, and procedures to identify and apply effective project strategies.
- Formulate creative solutions to unique or evolving customer and operational challenges.
- Accurately maintain records, proposals, and client documentation via software, from initial contact through project completion.
- Manage workload priorities and multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and goals with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, efficient, and service-oriented work environment.
- Exercise sound, independent judgment and respond quickly to urgent or emergency client needs.
- Identify market trends and evaluate potential commercial clients to determine the best use of marketing budgets and outreach resources.

Minimum Qualifications
Strong oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and groups in a clear and concise manner.Demonstrated knowledge of B2B sales, project workflows, and basic building trades terminology.Proven problem-solving and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.Experience evaluating business processes or working within structured workflows. Working in the trades or construction environment is preferred..Ability to organize workload, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing demands.Adept at anticipating client needs and making independent decisions where precedent may not exist.Experience with CRM. Experience with project management software preferred.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial account management, estimating, or project coordination, preferred within the plumbing, lining, or construction trades.Preferred candidate to possess strong knowledge of plumbing, epoxy lining techniques, materials, and equipment.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Proficiency in using CRM, project management software and basic computer applications.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.Physical Demands and Work Environment
