Family Law Attorney

A mid-sized law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Law Attorney to lead its active family law practice in the Tacoma office. This position offers the opportunity to step into an established client base and manage a consistent flow of family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support issues. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, strong client service skills, and a desire to work in a collaborative, professional environment with room for growth.

Duties

Manage and grow the family law caseload, including divorce, custody, child support, and related matters

Provide legal consultation to potential new clients

Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

Represent clients in court hearings, mediation, and settlement conferences

Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress and strategy

Maintain compliance with billing practices and manage case budgets

Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on legal strategy

Contribute to business development through exceptional service and client retention

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of experience practicing family law

Experience managing a full caseload independently

Prior experience with client consultations and case intake

Familiarity with real estate law is a plus

Must be comfortable with hourly billing and case management

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

Admitted to and in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association
