Virginia Nursing Job Details Location : Mechanicsville, VA 23116 (Richmond metropolitan area) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing - Labor & Delivery Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D), 10-bed LDR unit with 2 triage and 2 OR rooms Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00pm - 7 : 00am) Hours per Week : 36 Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 - End : 1 / 17 / 2026) Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and every other holiday required On-Call : Not required Interview : No interview required Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,990 - $2,130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for Virginia nursing jobs) Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience Travel nursing experience preferred Ability to assist and / or scrub in the OR for deliveries Fetal monitoring experience required BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required (may obtain prior to start) Experience caring for high acuity patients, including those with language barriers, substance abuse, and chronic conditions affecting pregnancy No local candidates (must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Mechanicsville, VA) L&D RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive, family-centered care to mothers and newborns in a busy Labor & Delivery unit Assist and scrub in the OR for deliveries Perform and interpret fetal monitoring; conduct vaginal exams Provide patient education, breastfeeding support, and discharge planning Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes Float to Mother / Baby unit as needed Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards Respond effectively in emergencies, including resuscitation and stabilization of mother / fetal dyad Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and compassion in all patient interactions Apply now to join our Virginia healthcare team as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse and make a lasting impact in maternal and newborn care!
