Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg Tele RN with a NY RN license and at least one year of recent experience for a night shift contract. Responsibilities Work in a Med / Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Typical patient diagnoses include osteoarthritis and bone fractures Day and evening nurse to patient ratio is 5 : 1, nights 6 or 7 : 1, with potential for higher ratios during stretches Patient Care Technicians provide support with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living In-house phlebotomy team handles all peripheral lab draws; nurses are responsible for PICC lines and central lines Epic charting is used; Epic experience is preferred but not required Night shifts (4x12 hours) from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 Required to work every other weekend No on-call required Floating to similar units may be required within scope of practice First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must wear navy and white scrubs Maximum of one week requested time off allowed per contract Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible The team includes support from PCTs and a dedicated phlebotomy department Assignment includes a call-off policy of up to three shifts per 13-week assignment Requirements Active NY RN license required at time of submission Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Minimum of 1 year recent MS / Tele RN experience required Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required Proficiency with IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line management, heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, chest tubes (Emerson / Pleur-evac), CPAP / BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and wound care Epic EMR experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618452.
