Job Description

Our practice is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. We are committed to delivering exceptional mental and behavioural health services to our patients in the St. Louis area. As a valued member of our practice, you will work collaboratively with our Clinical Admin team, allowing you to focus on providing top-tier patient care.

Role Purpose :

This position requires an exceptional level of expertise, specialized training, and competence in the field of psychiatry and mental health. As a PMHNP, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, formulating diagnoses, developing comprehensive treatment plans, coordinating interventions, and evaluating the progress of individuals experiencing severe, persistent, and debilitating mental illnesses. This work will be carried out within the framework of a formal collaborative practice agreement with our supervising psychiatrist (MD).

Responsibilities :

  • Engage in continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications for adults with severe mental illnesses through advanced and integrated assessments, diagnoses, and interventions, under the collaborative practice agreement with a supervising psychiatrist. Prescription responsibilities will be subject to regular review by the collaborating physician.
  • Provide supportive psychotherapy and oversee the psychiatric care of a specific client population, focusing on client-centered mental health treatment aimed at achieving recovery. Admit and discharge clients in accordance with the Level of Care and treatment plan objectives.
  • Offer consultation on psychiatric symptoms, co-occurring medical conditions, and appropriate psychiatric interventions.
  • Perform psychiatric assessments, diagnose conditions, and provide psychotherapy.
  • Prescribe medications judiciously, ensuring sound medication management practices.
  • Deliver direct clinical services to individual clients in the office, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
  • Refer clients to appropriate specialists or primary care physicians as needed to promote recovery and overall health.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee policies and procedures related to psychopharmacologic and medical treatment, including the administration, evaluation, and documentation of psychotropic medications. Evaluate and document the effectiveness, complications, and side effects of psychotropic medications and arrange for necessary lab work in accordance with established protocols.
  • Manage pharmaceuticals and medical supplies effectively.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements :

  • Current and valid PMHNP license.
  • Current and valid DEA license.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an office setting.
  • Being Credentialed with major insurance companies in MO.
  • A strong commitment to prioritizing patient care.
  • Proficiency in word processing and computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software and workflow updates.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • This will be a 1099 employment opportunity
