Admitting Department Position

Has in-depth knowledge in all the functions of the Admitting Department. Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. In-depth knowledge of all insurance types, including government health programs, regulatory requirements, ability to calculate patient financial responsibility, and ability to speak with patients about their financial liability. Ability to take after hours and weekend call on a rotating basis.

Minimum Education : High School graduate or equivalent evidence in file required

Minimum Experience / Knowledge : Three years of hospital experience or in a related field

Required License / Certification : AB 508 Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer into the department, and maintained by renewal before expiration date

The hourly rate range for this position is $27.32 - $34.67. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
