Board certification eligibility is required, and candidates must hold a valid medical license in Michigan or participate in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are also required.

The EMR system utilized is Cerner, and coverage type is scheduled clinical hours only, with no call required. Hospitalists handle admissions, allowing the emergency medicine physician to focus solely on patient care.
