CARE is looking for 3 - 5 social media volunteers to help create, schedule, and publish engaging social media content that showcases the mission and impact of CARE. This role focuses on increasing awareness, building community engagement, and driving support for CARE initiatives to improve animal welfare through rescue support, spay / neuter funding, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and post regularly across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.
- Leverage content from the CARE social media strategy library / calendar.
- Develop creative posts that tell stories of animals, rescues, and shelters we support.
- Create graphics, short videos, and photo posts using Canva or similar tools.
- Write clear, compelling captions aligned with our voice and mission.
- Respond to comments, messages, tags in a warm, professional, and timely manner.
- Use hashtags, tagging, and cross-posting strategies to increase reach and visibility.
- Promote fundraising campaigns, events, and special initiatives.
- Provide live or near-real-time social media coverage during select events.
- Collaborate with the team to align posts with organizational priorities and goals.
- Track post performance and engagement metrics to recommend improvements.
- Stay current on social media trends and adapt ideas for an animal welfare audience.
Qualifications
Passion for animal welfare and alignment with the mission of CARE.Experience managing social media accounts.Proficiency with Canva (or similar tools) and basic photo / video editing.Strong writing skills with a warm, community-centered tone.Reliable, organized, and able to meet posting deadlines.Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and other scheduling tools.Knowledge of TikTok and short-form video trends.Experience in nonprofit communications or animal rescue.
