job_description.job_card.job_description3 years of relevant energy modeling experience with a degree, or 5 years of experience without a degree required Degrees accepted : Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural, Mechanical, Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Energy, or Electrical Engineering Experience with IES energy simulation software is a must. Have strong fundamentals in building physics and heat transfer Possess an understanding of HVAC systems and related mechanical concepts (preferred) Possess an understanding of building energy performance and simulation methods Energy simulation software such as eQuest or EnergyPlus. Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis & visualization Experience with scripting using one or more of the following : Python, VBA, R, or similar language Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper based simulation tools Interest in daylighting, CFD, passive design, renewable energy analysis, and / or HVAC system comparison analysis Building performance analysis or energy modeling criteria (C.E.M., BEMP, HBDP, etc.)
Position Overview
As an Energy Modeler II at Henderson Engineers, you will have the opportunity to contribute your energy analysis expertise to our six market sectors, including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. This role is fully devoted to providing detailed energy analysis for LEED certification, code compliance, utility rebate, and / or client energy efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed energy analysis for LEED certification, Code compliance, utility rebate, and / or client energy efficiency goals
- Analysis of energy savings opportunities and design alternatives
- Working with teams on implementing sustainable and high-performance designs
- Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines
- Maintaining positive client relationships
