PCU Nursing Job Details Location : Shelby, North Carolina 28150 Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 32 beds Job Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Assignment Dates : August 25, 2025 – November 22, 2025 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am) Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Estimated Weekly Pay : $1570 - $1680 Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend Holiday Coverage : 75% of holidays during contract Scrub Color : Navy Parking : Free onsite Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Proficient in tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management Ability to float within region and scope of practice as needed Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors preferred PCU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients with diverse diagnoses, including CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI / CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage central lines and chest tubes Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams : CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV / VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists Float to other nursing units or facilities within the region as needed Participate in departmental and facility orientation Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards Apply now to join our healthcare team in Shelby, NC and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
