EMI Services is hiring an HVAC General Maintenance Workers (GMW) to perform general maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in the HVAC trade. Work involves a variety of the following duties : replacing belts, pulleys, wires, switches and clean equipment and perform preventative maintenance according to a checklist. This list is not all inclusive and the HVAC GMW’s primary responsibilities overall include performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs of equipment and machinery in various trades.
Salary
$20.87 / hr. plus $4.93 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctionsRecord type and cost of maintenance or repair workClean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machineryRepair or replace defective equipment partsPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorateInspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklistsDismantle devices to access and remove defective partsOrder parts, supplies, and equipmentAdjust functional parts of devices or control instrumentsOperate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal partsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirement- use rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instrumentsMaintain specialized HVAC equipment and machinery found in various commercial buildingsPerform general cleaning of buildings or propertiesincluding debris removalPerforms other related duties as assignedEssential Skills
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in HVAC in a commercial / industrial settingapplicable building and safety code requirementsmethods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipmentUse hand tools, measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices such as metersAdaptable and flexible in work situationsPrioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely mannerPRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipmentIncluding proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent2+ years related experience and / or formal vocational / technical training in a variety of building and / or utility tradesEach complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experienceEPA Universal Refrigeration LicenseDuty PhoneValid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkRegular, dependable attendanceU.
