Overview and Responsibilities Summary
The Assistant Controller supports the financial operations of the organization by overseeing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting strategic decision-making in a dynamic home healthcare environment.

Qualifications
Employment is contingent on background investigation, drug screen, and valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record. Required education and / or experience include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with accounting softwares (Oracle, Lawson, SAP etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. SEC reporting experience is required. Technical accounting experience. Familiarity with Medicare / Medicaid billing and reimbursement preferred. Experience in home healthcare or long-term care financial operations preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards preferred.
Skills and competencies include the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, deep technical knowledge of IBM Cognos system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written. Experience developing standard operating procedures and documentation. Experience working within ITIL or similar support frameworks. High attention to detail and a commitment to platform reliability and user experience. Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information. Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills. Strong leadership, planning, and delegation skills. Work independently and as part of a team.

Physical demands include lifting and carrying office equipment at times, sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening, and close vision to small print on computer and / or tablet and paperwork.
