Temporary Lecturer (Summer Sessions 2025)

Position Description

Temporary positions are anticipated for lecturers in Environmental Science & Policy

A list of courses that may be available during Summer Session I and II, 2025 are below. It is possible that courses may be added or omitted from this list as the year progresses.

Appointment Date :

Several appointments are made for summer session. The number of courses assigned for each appointment may vary depending on type of course and percentage of appointment. Service dates are :

• Summer Session I 2025 Monday, June 23 - Friday, August 1
• Summer Session II 2025 Monday, August 4 - Friday, September 12

Duties and Responsibilities :

Teach one or more summer courses for Environmental Science & Policy.

Salary :

Salary commensurate with qualifications, education, experience and course load.

Criteria for appointment will be evidence of teaching excellence (or, for first time, relatively inexperienced candidates, the potential for excellence) in terms of (a) rigorous and intellectually challenging course content, and (b) the ability to present that material effectively, i.e., stimulating interest in and critical thought regarding the subject matter.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Appropriate professional degree [minimum requirement is Masters], e.g., in psychology, human development, or equivalent discipline.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

Ph.D. is preferred, e.g., in environmental policy, environmental science, or equivalent discipline
