Schedule Details / Additional Information :

Position requires weekends and holiday rotation to work. Shift is 7p-7a.

Pay Range

$20.40 - $30.60

Major Responsibilities :

Assist in the management of patient information in the eICU

Verifies census, patient, staff assignments, patient physician and house staff at the

beginning of each shift.

Retrieves patient data from hospital's system and enters into eCareManager

Data entry and retrieval is accurate and timely

Enters new admissions within 10 minutes

Enters new lab data with 1 hour

Enter I&O within 2 hours into eCareManager from EMTEK

Files all diagnostic reports and reports all stat results to the nurse promptly

Maintains the patient's chart according to established protocol

Disassembles patient file according to protocol at time of discharge

Communication

Consults with the nurse when concerns arise to resolve operational questions.

Screens telephone calls and accurately records and reports messages.

Reports "stat results", "panic values", or "diagnostic results" to MD / RN in a timely manner.

Demonstrates a competent, courteous, and professional manner with coworkers, physicians, visitors, patients and others.

Maintains reasonable confidentiality measures in execution of all duties.

Maintains accurate written communications.

Demonstrates E-Mail knowledge in reading, creating, sending, and deleting mail

Demonstrates telephone etiquette.

Maintains composure under stressful circumstances.

Reports technical problems to IS as appropriate. Reports clinical, administrative, as directed by RN, MD. Demonstrates enthusiasm and interest in response to requests and calls to the eICU.

Maintains accurate written communications

Maintenance of appropriate computer processes

Operates and maintains eCareManager

Enters the required data in eCareManager

Prints data when appropriate

Learns basic and advanced features of the eVantage software to enhance efficiently in assessment and documentation.

Learns and updates word-processing, email and web-based skills to enhance communication and educational growth.

Maintains a variety of databases, spreadsheet and project assignments

Performs basic trouble shooting activities

Maintenance of supplies and environment

Orders supplies and equipment according to established procedure

Ensure work environment is orderly and hazard free.

Patient Confidentiality

Maintains patient confidentiality

Reports unauthorized personnel to Clinical Manager

Reports security breaches to Clinical Manager

Education / Experience Required :

High school graduatePrevious healthcare clerical or healthcare related experience 2 yearsFamiliarity with medical terminology and laboratory data

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Proper telephone skillsGood organization and communication skillsProficiency with Window based computer programsComfortable in a fast-paced environment

Must pass medical terminology test

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Ability to work under stressful conditions with multiple simultaneous requests Handling of departmental equipment and materials is requiredAbility to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06 / 01 / 2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting / movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
