Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

Location : Northwest Chicago suburbs- Elgin, Barrington, Cary

Job Summary :

As a Registered Vascular Technologist, you will perform non-invasive vascular studies to assist in the diagnosis and management of vascular conditions. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care and safety. Your expertise in vascular imaging will play a crucial role in identifying vascular diseases and guiding treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive non-invasive vascular examinations, including Doppler ultrasound studies, arterial and venous evaluations, and carotid duplex imaging.
  • Utilize ultrasound equipment effectively and maintain quality control to ensure optimal image quality and accurate diagnostic results.
  • Collaborate with physicians to discuss test results and assist in formulating treatment plans based on findings.
  • Review patient medical histories and prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering any questions.
  • Maintain accurate records of examinations and patient data in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols during procedures.
  • Stay updated with advancements in vascular technology and participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide patient-centered care that emphasizes empathy, respect, and concern for patient well-being.

Qualifications :

  • Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or an equivalent organization.
  • A relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography or vascular technology,
  • Previous experience in vascular ultrasound and non-invasive testing is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, pathology, and hemodynamics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software applications.
