Position Summary

Responsible for grants accounting and management and the overall implementation of the finance and administration procedures. Ensure financial and administrative policies and procedures are in accordance with Project HOPE's policies and funding source requirements. Act as mentor and supervisor to junior colleagues and provide on job training to help them grow and build their capacity.

Principal Responsibilities

Accounting and Finance Management :

• Supervise and ensure that the day-to-day accounting operations and financial management functions in HQ and field offices are performed in accordance with internal policy and procedures. Ensure that all costs charged to the projects are allowable and allocable as per donor regulations. Ensure no charges are made on closed projects as well as costs are allocated to correct accounts.
• Supervise monthly closing process ensuring that deadlines are met.
• Supervise and train less experienced colleagues in accounting practices and make sure they receive required knowledge.
• Direct the preparation of all financial reports for internal and external purposes in respect to accounting, legal and contractual requirements.
• Leading on monthly review of expenditures and cash forecasting with the field team to ensure accurate budget projections and timely requests for cash; coordinate variance analysis discussion and documentation.
• Explore and suggest possible improvements in reporting and analyses process that can further improve field and HQ work, to comply with required donors and internal reports / analyses.
• Review grant document, ensure that grant document terms are communicated with Field Team; provide comments for new grant agreements and grant amendments.
• Review project procurement documentation above $20K and make sure that it is in accordance with PH's policies and Donor's regulations. Communicate review with Logs and the field team as applicable.
