Veterinary Technician, LVT, CVT

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing high-quality veterinary services. This role involves working closely with veterinarians to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care, performing various clinical tasks, and assisting in surgical procedures.

• Duties
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze results, including blood work and urinalysis
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals, monitoring their condition and vital signs
• Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and when handling specimens
• Conduct dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures using veterinary terminology
• Handle and restrain animals safely for examinations, treatments, or procedures
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care
• Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care
• Participate in the training of new staff members or interns as needed

Candidates should have prior experience in a veterinary setting with the following skills preferred :

• Veterinary technician experience with a solid understanding of animal anatomy and physiology
• Experience in veterinary critical care, including emergency response protocols
• Knowledge of kennel operations and dog handling techniques
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary diagnostics
• Proficiency in animal catheterization, restraint techniques
